We've had the WORST luck with a lawn maintenance company. We've probably gone through 2-3 in the last 24 months because they either don't show up when they say they will, or just totally go dark for weeks so our lawn gets so overgrown that it starts dying underneath. I've looked for months for a company that is decently priced that will pretty much do everything (mowing/edging/blowing and routine weeding/feeding as needed) and I've run into dead ends every time. I put out some more calls to 5 or 6 companies over the last 2 weeks and again I either don't get a response or I get someone really flaky who never gives me a quote! I don't get it! Why is it so hard to find someone reliable!!

Does anyone have recommendations for a trustworthy, responsive and timely landscaper that's willing to take on more clients? We are desperate for recommendations!

TYIA

No, but have you asked your neighbors who have good looking lawns?

Maybe "decently priced" is part of the problem.

Where I live, the weeding and feeding are done by separate companies like Tru-Green. Good luck with finding a mowing company which do chemicals.

One source is to ask several real estate agents because they often have a list of contacts for each area of home improvement, including landscaping.

For your basic mow/trim/blow type service look on the Nextdoor app or Nextdoor.com for your area. You're not going to get the high end, but for very basic and simple you don't need high end.

"Landscaping" is different from lawn maintenance and lawn cleanup. Even the high school kids who do basic mowing might call themselves 'landscapers,' but they aren't, really.

You may have to break up these tasks to find the right kind of service. It's a P.I.T.A. for sure.

Another source for "landscaping" and by that I mean design/install, are home builders. They all use landscaping services to complete their communities and individual houses. These won't be low-cost grass cutters, but if true landscaping is what you need, that's another source for getting some names.

Definitely a PITA - thanks for the help!

As far as "decently priced" goes, we're really not trying to go over 350/month for the services, which from what I've found so far is well within that range. We did actually ask our neighbors, but their vendor isn't taking new clients.

Will definitely start looking into breaking up the services. I appreciate the insight!

+1 on using Nextdoor.com.
This will get you actual recommendations and references from real people, who are local to you.

I have someone coming in like 20 min to do yard cleanup. I got their name from a flyer they had put in my mailbox. We'll see if a good job is done or not.

nextdoor is a good resource because during the pandemic a lot of high schoolers have picked up the slack and perform this service. There are a couple on my local nextdoor that get really good reviews!
