I've noticed less antique stores in the Triangle compared in the Triad. In the Triad (Greensboro, Burlington, etc.), there are antique malls all over the place, but I don't see them as often in the Triangle. Maybe there are more than I realize, though. Does anyone have any antique store recommendations in the Triangle or just outside the metro (Smithfield, Rocky Mount, etc.)? Thanks!
Cheshire Cat Gallery is great. A couple of others are Pigfish, 2 Girls Antiques (just opened at Seaboard Station), Hunt and Gather. We do lack the big antique malls like the ones in Charlotte. There are also lots of pickers that I shop from via instagram. Most of them have storage units.

I second the Cheshire Cat Gallery, I got a few things from them. I read about the 2 girls antiques I think they were just featured on Indy Week.
It’s been a good 15 years since I did much antique shopping, but at least back then most of the small towns had at least one store in the old downtown, and some towns had quite a lot. Pittsboro, Smithfield, Selma, and Sanford were all places we had good luck. A little bit further drive, but Cameron had a ton of shops, and I got some really nice art pottery pieces.
The Triad definitely always seemed much more into antiques to me than here. My guess is that the NC furniture roots in that area are at least a partial reason. I had a family member very involved in antiques there, and they would drive all over the middle and western parts of the state looking for pieces. Did a lot of work with the Museum of Early Southern Decorative Arts in Old Salem. Pie safes, chairs, chests of drawers, and pottery were especially things I always remember him being on the lookout for.
I've never been to Selma, I'd love to check it out!
Yeah, I don't think there are any antique malls in Raleigh or Durham apart from the Cheshire Cat. There are clearly more in the Triad, especially around Burlington and Greensboro. The Triad is an older area in many respects so that could be a reason, too.
Pittsboro has a couple of shops, as well as Wilson and Sanford. EDIT: There's a good one in Downtown Wake Forest too. I don't remember the name of it.
