Yup, as I mentioned in this thread last fall, I switched to Farm Bureau after Amica jacked up their rates. My Farm Bureau agent warned they'll likely have a significant increase next year though, so we'll see what the damage is and keep shopping around. Had been at Amica for over a decade after switching from State Farm when they pulled the same thing.
Paying nearly double what I was paying 2 years ago. Shopped around quite a bit what I am paying now is in line.
Yep...at some point there are no cheaper rates because everyone is paying more. I'm locked in with Erie across the board, so it wouldn't be fun to switch carriers again just to maybe save a few bucks.
I didn't get my new homeowner policy yet with Amica but saw it was online and it went from $1100 last year to $1745 for the renewal. They did increase my coverage though. My auto insurance went down around $100.
I've had other companies in the past and Amica is so much better than they were. I'm not ready to leave Amica yet. I will compare prices but don't think they will be much different with all the natural disasters taking place and the cost of materials to rebuild.

Just got my NC Farm Bureau homeowners renewal: 23% increase with an 8% increase in coverage limits.
But the door-to-door storm-chasing roofing folks are more and more aggressive. Just had another one yesterday who referenced storms “a few years ago” as the reason why we needed a no-cost assessment to see if insurance would cover.

Yeah, these guys are really annoying. Right now, RRE (Raleigh Residential Exteriors) - 2 ppl are out constantly in the neighborhoods with their ipads saying they'll do a free inspection. I said no, and then they come back again next month. Down the street, I see a homeowner getting a new roof from RRE when the rest of the street has not changed their roof and neither is it time to do so considering the age of the house.
And here I thought the door to door bug companies were annoying during the summertime!
