Use care when in the area; they gather in H-Mart parking lot.

Story on WRAL today about a recent fatality.

Cary's mayor was told about it 5 mos. ago:

It's ridiculous. And IDK where the police are all night. The other night around 1 a.m. there was a group of guys hanging out in the parking lot of the Food Lion drinking (the one on the corner of Chapel Hill Road and Cary Parkway) and there was a group of guys hanging out on the bridge over the RR tracks on Cary Parkway. I'm not impressed right now.

Supposedly the landlord of the H Mart shopping center doesn't care, too bad people won't protest with their pocketbooks.

This was happening about a year ago in Durham. I feel sorry you have to deal with it now. Loud, late at night, and somehow the police took several weeks before doing anything. From my nextdoor feed, people were calling 911, the city police non-emergency number, the sheriff's department (and probably the mayor) complaining.

Was happening? I hear it still happening here in North Durham. Less than at the beginning of the year and to the credit of Durham PD they have put more of a presence around to try and deter it. However, living super close to Stadium Dr and Duke St, anyone can hear they still have work to do.

Shut it down in one spot, and unfortunately they'll just move elsewhere. I've been noticing an increase of racing on Cary Parkway near Kildaire lately. Haven't actually seen them, but it's pretty obvious when you can hear two LOUD modified engines pass by your window faster than typical traffic.

Do you have the ATV (usually on the highway or downtown) problem here too?

Nope, none observed/heard on Davis Dr.
Been in Preston 28 years this week. Never been so noisy!

Last night the R.I.C.E. cars had their usual Wednesday night aftermarket exhausts roaring until about 10:45 PM.
The road has loads of street lights.

Sorta hard/dangerous for PD to make a traffic stop on Davis Dr., as there are no shoulders.
During the day, Davis Dr. greenway (i.e. wide sidewalk) is semi-dangerous as it is a 45 MPH road with no guardrails for pedestrian protection.
Another part of Cary (45 MPH Kildare Farm Rd) has guardrails to protect walkers, over near Lochmere.

It could be worse, like what happened on Boone's streets:
