A friend tells me the porch is their outside area. I have a birthday reservation and a friend suggested sitting there. I'm trying to decide if it would be comfortable in early October. Maybe 70's down to 60's in the evening maybe? I can call of course, but I was hoping to get input from someone who has sat there.

I went to the NWS website and looked up the "daily climate normals (1991-2020)" for Raleigh.

Oct 5: average high 77, average low 55
Oct 10: average high 75, average low 53
Oct 15: average high 73, average low 51

What this doesn't tell you is the standard deviation, which I imagine is substantial. In short: on a normal day, you'd get what you want. But weather in October is usually a sawblade pattern. /\/\/\/\/\

I would think it would be comfortable. Don't forget the sun goes down before 7 p.m. around the beginning of October.

I think I saw on the news last week the latest 90 degree day last year was September 12. If it's in the 80s during the day it should be ok at dinner but I'd be curious which way the porch faces. I wouldn't want to sit with the sun in my eyes.

There's no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothing

What the Angus Barn calls The Porch is actually glass enclosed, unless they've changed it since I worked there. It was the sunroom/atrium looking part that faced 70. They did add outdoor seating outside of it, so maybe they now offer the option of dining on The Porch with indoor or outdoor options?

So you can sit outdoor indoor or outdoor outdoor?

You feel like you are outdoors while indoors on The Porch, that's for sure. I know they have outdoor seating, they had a lot of it last year and I am assuming they haven't gotten rid of it this year.
