Not that surprising, really. Many folks living close to the edge stay at those for various reasons.
Yeah I don't think it's surprising either. Maybe I'm wrong but I think the OP was trying to make a point with this thread that shootings happen everywhere (ie RTP). But it's not like this was two software engineers at Cisco having a good old fashioned shootout after a long day's work to decide who's Python code was better.

Yeah...I usually roll my eyes and check out of those discussions...for other reasons...
People make a comment about Durham and crime. I don't think the "it can happen anywhere" is the right response. "Durham is a huge place; mostly its fine but some parts of it are crummy and have more crime than other parts of the Triangle" is better but people don't like nuance. "Raleigh is a safe and nice area to raise a family" is true but people aren't talking about Raleigh BLVD/Rock Quarry Rd area either...
