Can anyone provide some insight regarding the insurance market in the Raleigh area?
Have premiums been on the rise? What are you paying for homeowners and auto (@ what amount of coverage?).
What type of inspections (if any) are you required to have (homeowners)?

Homeowners is constantly on the rise, largely in part due to roof claims. Insurance companies will replace 25 year old roofs if they show damage due to "hail or wind". Many people think that their home maintenance is other people's responsibility, so they take advantage of this.

Our auto insurance is pretty reasonable.

That's a pretty wide open question - sorta like How much are you paying for a car? There are several threads on here discussing various insurance companies.

I am not aware of any inspections required for homeowners.

Don't forget about umbrella policies as well.

You really need to shop around on a regular basis and see what people are offering. I was with Amica and recently switched to Erie because it was over $1,000 cheaper......

40+ years with USAA for me. January 2020 I switched to Erie. Saved about $800.

The annual increases have been reasonable and minimal. The service from our agent (Doug Barefoot) has been OUTSTANDING.
