Three are already under construction, all with gas stations. One at Airport Boulevard and Perimeter Park in Morrisville; Another at Louisburg Road and Calvary Drive in Raleigh; and one more at Cary Park across from Publix shopping Center. All opening this Summer.
Here's the thing, Sheetz is actually way better than 7-11 ever was. And yet, despite knowing that to be true, I too am very happy to hear this news. 7-11 was the first store of its type that I knew growing up in the NYC area and was always a favorite destination for me as a teenager, and then as an adult. I remember how excited I was when they finally started opening up in the outer boroughs meaning I didn't have to wait until I was on Long Island to grab a Slurpee.
For those of us who considered 7-11 to be the standard bearer for grab-n-go convenience stores, this is a happy day indeed.

Maybe it is just because I grew up with them in Virginia but I just consider 7-11s to be super meh. They are decently run for the most part, especially in the Northern part of Virginia, but I don’t find the food or anything else to be super excited about. I live right smack dab across from one and barely visit it.

Kind of my thoughts. I grew up with them my whole life in the Midwest and they were always kind of my last choice. Sheetz really is nice.

I agree with all of this! I grew up with them in Northern Virginia. When I was a kid, getting a Slurpee was the ultimate treat.
None of these locations are particularly close to me, but hopefully they'll be adding more. Maybe they would consider the parcel of land near Cary Parkway and Rt 1 that Sheetz was talking about building on, but never seemed to materialize. It surprises me how much undeveloped land is at that interchange. It might be the last bit of land in Cary that no one has built on!
Good’ole 7-Eleven back in the day…beer, cigarettes, Top rolling papers and Screaming Yellow Zonkers
