Tried to rep you Mike, but I gotta spread it around.
I got no idea who Jimmy Spencer is, though? So no worries there. Not a NASCAR fan.
Not a racing fan, either, but Jimmy came from hard coal country in PA, near my folks' roots.
"Mr. Excitement," partly because you could not predict how many cars he would take out of any race.
Big mouth, hot temper, lead foot.
I was having a nice chat with an equipment owner doing some work on a project. Really nice guy.
Made the mistake of mentioning Jimmy, whom I had only heard of from John Boy and Billy...
His eyes went to slits, and he almost hissed, "I don't think too much of that man."
I thought, "I'm dang sure not getting into barbecue at this point."
Called my boss, who used to paint cars for the Allison team.
Told him about it.
Long silence.
Then he said, "Well, I don't like Dale Earnhardt."
Went home and told my wife that the only topics from that point on were weather and work.

Thanks for the laughs. We lived in Wilkes Barre, PA for a couple of years back in the 1980’s. I so clearly remember people using the word “Heyna†at the end of sentences. It’s really unique, heyna?
LOL
My NEPA roots are fairly deep, but mostly familiar with the Tunkhannock area. I am a stranger to Heyna.
I think I need to visit family soon and keep my ears open.
OP, CT has a different feel depending on where you live. When we lived closer to NYC in CT we were unhappy as we like open space and lots of greenery, plus we disliked the commute. However, there are many other less dense population areas in CT.
What is your motivation for moving - weather? taxes? housing issues? other?
We moved away years ago and have never regretted it but other parts of CT would not have been objectionable to us.
My entire family is from NEPA, and I've never heard anyone say "heyna." However, my mom used to jokingly say "Jeet jet?"
That video is a hoot!
It IS a hoot. Well done.
"Jeet" covers a fair amount of PA.
It is not uncommon in the Pittsburgh area.
As a kid, I lived in Honesdale, Tunkhannock, and spent many summers in Tunkhannock with the grandparents. Mostly roamed north of there, only going over Back Mountain for business, shopping, etc.
Much more familiar with Wyoming County.
Meshoppen, Mehoopany, used to trout fish at Forkston.
I never heard "heyna," but the video sort of says it is a Wilkes-Barre, Scranton and points south thing.
