I only park in the main deck if I am flying out of Terminal 1. For Terminal 2 flights, my sweet spot is left 2 lanes of Central parking and then down to P2 or P3 level.

Wow, both of those situation suck. I guess that if I'm going to park a car, I'm going back to arriving 2-hours early.

(The other thing we usually do, is my wife drives me, or I drive her if we are travelling separately. We only live about 20-25 minutes away though...)

Hush! That's been my sweet spot since 1987. Unfortunately, that deck will be taken down at some point.

Late September until mid-November is the best time of the year to travel, IMHO. I was in the RDU main garage last week and again this week. Plenty of available spaces.

Parked in C row which is the third to last row (left) at Fast Park. When the bus enters the lot it starts at the right and picks up passengers. Three full buses passed me, each one saying "I'm full but there's another one coming." This is despite me calling the manager and giving her my exact parking spot for a pickup.

Long story short, missed my flight (was 3 minutes past the check in time). Luckily Delta accommodated me on the next flight so I just hung out in the lounge for 2 hours.

We had problems all summer with Fast Park, and I said I was done with their poor service. The only reason I used it this one last time was I had free days from prior trips. We will park on the airport property from now on. In my opinion, it's worth every penny (but like was said further up, for longer stays, uber).
I've heard a lot of similar complaints about Fast Park. It's on the wrong side of the airport from where we live so never did use it.

Have a 5:15 AM flight in December, which has been moved up so many times pretty soon we're gonna be flying the night before. Will most likely pony up for central parking so I can push the airport arrival as late as possible.

It's like the old Yogi Berra saying "The place is so busy nobody goes there anymore"

It is what it is, it's like people whinging and moaning about Walmart - Neither business has incentive to improve because they know you'll come back because they're the cheapest game in town. For what its worth, the last time this happened I called and emailed to voice my complaint, and I was up front that I was not looking for a refund or free parking in the future, just letting them know that there was a problem. Not a single call or email back.

I'm just at the point in my life where my peace of mind is worth a few extra bucks.

My daughter parked at FastPark late Saturday afternoon and had no problems.

Lately I've been checking the current parking lot volumes before heading out (click here to view) and adjusting accordingly. If volumes in Central are well over 90% I'll either Uber/Lyft or aim for the nearest offsite lot. In those situations I also use a simple formula where if I'm going to be paying for three or more days of parking ($60), I'll take an Uber/Lyft anyway as it costs the same amount. I don't love sometimes having to wait for my ride, but the lack of stress on the outbound leg makes it much more appealing.

Shhhhhh!! This is my go-to every time. Shortest walk to Term 2 and my company pays for the $20 daily parking so I don't lose too much sleep over that.

There was an earlier comment about Uber. I often Uber and the notion of it being more affordable than parking really depends a lot on timing of day and surge pricing. You may be better off pretending its 2005 and just getting a regular taxi cab because they have flat rates regardless of time of day. I've paid 29 dollars for an Uber to Apex from the airport and I've paid $91, all depends on what random "surge price" Uber thinks you deserve. Ol' Uber ain't what she used to be.
