Horse racing fans in Triangle area (Pinehurst, Belmont: casinos, live, law)

I've been a horse racing fan for many years. I usually go to Belmont, Saratoga, Gulfstream and the Breeders Cup every year.

Any other horse racing fans in the Triangle area?

I dont go that much now, but growing up went every week to different tracks in Kentucky.

When I lived in Indiana we were fanatics. Drove down to Churchill and Keeneland many weekends.

Went to alot of races at Del Mar, good times. No tracks around here???h

I think the law prohibiting paramutual betting is what prevents NC from having race tracks. There's a lot of horse activity in the area around Pinehurst but no racing.

Didn’t know there’s no paramutual betting here, no point in having races without betting. Is there any kind of gambling allowed, are there casinos here?

Just looked up gambling and gaming laws here. WOW, had no idea NC was so strict. But they allow Lottery tix?

Went to Saratoga every year for like 20 years. Good times....planning on going next summer.
