I probably should not post this, as it will hurt my chances of being selected in their lottery for seats, but I know others may be interested.

Wake Tech is starting up the $10 lunches again. For those free at that time of day, and in the South Raleigh area, it is a great deal and a fun time. While it is run by the students (with instructor supervision), the food has always been high quality when I have been there. Don't forget to tip !

I had a friend who took cooking classes there, and the food was delicious!

Does anyone know how much advance notice they give you if you are selected via the lottery. For example, I signed up for a lunch next Wednesday (Oct 19th). Do they notify you that morning? The week prior? A month in advance?

I got selected once last month - they apparently sent a confirmation email the week before but I never got it so I got another email from the instructor the weekend before my Tuesday lunch to confirm.

OK. So there's still hope. Thanks.

Crap! Today was my first time selected for lunch. I was all set to tip, but then they threw me off. I paid by credit card and there was no space on the bill to add a tip. Then I got to thinking, "Are we supposed to tip?". I asked my wife what she thought, and she said probably not because it's actually a classroom and everyone there was a student in the class, including the waiters, hostess, and teacher, who was walking around helping. I ended up not tipping. I'll probably never get picket again

You were setting an example for the students of what to expect in the real world from the Sunday churchgoers

They do appreciate tips, but it must be in cash.
