I’m interested in moving to Cary, NC. I’m divorced and would rent first to see if it’s for me. Does anyone have any areas that may be of interest to start my search there? It would be nice to meet other single people. I have a family so nothing against families. Just would be interested in choosing an area with some other adults in the same situation.
Great questions!
I’m 50 and have children in College. I was leaning towards a rental building but am open to other types of rentals. Most important for me would be the area. I hope that helps. It’s just a tad overwhelming. If possible I would prefer not to be far out from taking care of day to day responsibilities. Where there are options to do things and go out.
Park West Village would be nice in your situation. It’s technically in Morrisville but basically Cary for all practical purposes. Agree with the suggestions for downtown too.
ETA - Also Fenton might be work too. I haven’t spent much time there yet because it’s fairly new, but it looks like it’ll be a pretty fun area.
If you're looking to mix with singles your best bet would be live in Downtown Raleigh, then Downtown Durham, MAYBE Downtown Cary as it continues to get built out. Downtowns are walkable from your residence, lots of events, lots of community gatherings, pubs, restaurants, museums, cafes, etc.
The other places in Cary like Park West and Fenton are just mega shopping centers. You'll have to drive there. Then get out and be skilled going store to store like Target, Home Goods, etc and talking to strangers.
