Hello, Those unusual round shaped half bike/half car vehicles first debuted in Durham. These Vehicles known as ELFs.https://organictransit.com/articles-and-news/. My questions are:

1. Does anyone in Durham still use an ELF? If so, how often do you see them?

2. Has anyone here has experience using one or know anyone who has used one? If so, what was the experience like and how viable is it/was it for getting around Durham?

Thanks

Still see a couple around.

Very viable for western and downtown durham. There were people that would use them between chapel hill and durham on Erwin rd. There was a potter that would set up her entire table at the durham farmers market out of one, she lived near corner of pickett/ridge rd.

The ones you see are likely independent owners before the company went under. ELF produced about 850 vehicles before going bankrupt in 2020. The remaining bits were acquired by PetroSun.
