The pine pollen is the yellow stuff that is everywhere. I wait until I see that all of the "sperminators" have fallen off before doing any cleaning. Hopefully, not too much longer.

Right, by the time the patio is ready to sit on, it will be 90 degrees and tropical.

The hood of my black sedan indicates that no, the active early Spring pollen season is definitely not over.

Another reason why fall is better than spring here!
No pollen all over everything then.

Pods are fruit. The pollen did its job weeks before pods grew.

And the abundant yellow pollen comes from male (small) cones of pine trees. So it depends slightly on the microclimate of the area but in general many of us assume a 4 to 5 week period. Then it’s time for the wash down. I like to look at the edges of ponds and lakes to notice the bright yellow pollen areas fading.

I think it's hardly even gotten started. We haven't really seen any pine pollen yet.

It's been coming down for awhile in my area, near Lake Wheeler. A couple weeks ago, I shook a limb on a pine tree, resulting in a large yellow cloud.

Pollen will be done when there is a freeze! Was this a serious question?

There's pollen in the air (from different species) through the growing season. Generally, trees are in spring, grasses in summer, and "weeds" in the fall.

The big yellow dust clouds are from pine pollen; you'll know it's ending when the spent "catkins" (the pine's male flowers - look kinda like caterpillars or corncobs, but maybe an inch long) are all over the ground. Apparently there are people who buy pine pollen by the gram as a health food? This should be a major export industry for NC...
