The job is onsite so I need to find a three bedroom to rent. Three kids are involved so good schools are a must. Also looking for walkable neighborhoods (shopping, groceries, parks). What are the safe walkable neighborhoods and cities that will allow this criteria?

For clarification; Bethesda would mostly be considered East/Southeast Durham. I assume that is probably where your job is located as you named a specific area and there is quite a bit more commercial development there than in North Durham. But your job actually is in North Durham that could mean different recommendations.

What would your budget be for rent?

I looked it up on chatgpt- Page Rd is located in the northern part of Durham, North Carolina, in the United States. It is situated in the Bethesda community, which is known for its rural character and proximity to Falls Lake.

I don't know what chatgpt is, but unless there are 2 Page Roads and 2 Bethesdas, its definitely in SE Durham near RTP and RDU.

Nonetheless, you'll get better information if you provide more details, starting with how much rent you'd like to pay. Also clarifying the address or actual specific work location would help. The Brier Creek area might be a good place to start looking.

Page Rd is most definitely SE Durham.

Regardless; I think the Brier Creek area is a good recommendation. Many townhomes there that have relatively affordable rents and are assigned to schools in NW Raleigh that are generally sought-out.

Bahama is in the northern part of Durham County. Bethesda was a nice rural community 30 years ago, maybe longer. Now has a lot more housing options, but I doubt any of them you would consider walkable to groceries, shopping, etc. I've asked other people, do you really want to walk home with groceries? It's hot in the summer and your ice cream will melt. A gallon of milk is like 8 pounds, do you really want to walk home with one and try not to crush a dozen eggs at the same time.

I will second the Brier Creek area and nearby Cary and Morrisville which are in Wake County school system. You might find a rental that is walkable to restaurants but the traffic will be too heavy to do much other walking. Concentrate on finding good schools with an affordable rental townhouse or condo. Page Road and Bethesda are tech employment corridors, not a rural area.

SW Durham is pretty good, too. Woodcroft is a nice neighborhood. Parkwood is nice. Lot of decent housing around Southpoint Mall.
