I'm around a lot of noise at work, there seems to be more loud 'look at me' cars on the road lately, everyone has their own stereo at my local pool, and even when I walk my dog at Umstead State Park some people are having speakerphone convos while they hike. I was just curious if anyone has any off the beaten path favorite outdoor quiet places in the Triangle (but I totally understand if you want to keep it secret )

https://triangleonthecheap.com/boat-rental-triangle although Falls Lake and Lake Jordan aren't necessarily quiet on weekends.

White Pines Nature Preserve off of 15-501 between Pittsboro and Sanford is a great day hike and isolated.

Haw River trail at Bynum and the trail on US-64 just east of Pittsboro at the bridge.

Others:
Occoneeche Mountain in Hillsborough
Eno River State Park

On my list to try: Cane Creek "Mountains" Natural Area in Alamance County. Its a newly created park with more trails to come. Alamance County has some great parks! Cedarock Park is also a very nicely maintained with lots of amenities.

Has interstate noise. I was hoping for just nature sounds there.

I've found Raven Rock park down near Lillington to be peaceful. I find running water to help with calm and stress.

I think day and time also play a part. If you can head to a park during work/school hours it won't be as crowded.

We've tried a few different trails here and many seem to be off the beaten path. Full disclosure we haven't been in about a year so I don't know if traffic has picked up but we had great walks on every trail we took.
