I found a snake on my back patio and convinced myself it was a harmless corn snake. Now someone is telling me that it might be a copperhead. Anyone know? Here's a picture. (It was underneath my son's plastic pool.)
I don't think it is poisionus but don't go picking it up. It looks to me like a Eastern Garter Snake, but the coloring is a little off but the marking are the same, doing the job I did in the Army you get used to snakes, and am I to the point now that I hate to kill them but my wife goes crazy. Good luck take a rack and carry it off. Most of your non-poisionous snakes eat your poisionus ones, especially king snakes. But remember even if it is not poisionus it will still bite, but it is not likely to chase you.
Seriously though, it's hard to tell without seeing the head, but my guess would be a Gartner snake. They're abundant around here and come in all different colors but with a similar pattern to the one in your picture.
Um... anyone else out there that has NOT relocated to the area yet who finds it just a TAD BIT ODD and DISTURBING that they are VOTING ON WHICH POISONOUS SNAKE THIS COULD BE!!!!!!
AAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!
Just kidding you.... It IS odd... but C'est La Vie!
