Hi everybody,

I have been reading this forum for the past year as I plan my move to Durham - well the time is finally here. My daughter is entering 1st grade and will be attending Forest View Elementary. Here in Charlottesville she attends a private after school program that provides transportation from the school to the facility. Are there any private after school programs that provide transportation?

Thanks for any input.

Just wanted to say that I have several colleagues with children at Forest View, and they rave about the school! They just love it- hope your daughter will too. Do they not have onsite childcare at Forest View, or are you just wanting something private instead? Check out the Y in Durham. They have some afterschool programs but I don't know any of the details. Maybe someone on the Forest View PTA can make suggestions. They'd likely know if current students get bussed anywhere afterschool.

The YMCA has after school programs in Durham and usually provides transportation. You'll have to check out if Forest View is one of the transportation schools. (YMCA information usually lists the schools serviced by the YMCA bus.) I don't know if the link is allowed, but you should be able to google Durham YMCA after school.

Good luck!
