Hi There,
Can anyone tell me about Johnston County? We have children ages 9, 6, and 4. I'd like to know about the schools (year yound/traditional), pediatricians, Baptist churches, and recreation/parks. Is it a safe area? Anything you could could share would so be helpful. We may be relocating from Florida, and the housing is more affordable in that county compared to Wake Co. My husband will be working off of Wake Forest Dr. (I thing it's drive) We want something within a 30 mile radius.
Thank you for your time

Johnston County has really grown in the last few years. I have alot of friends that live there and talk wonderfully about the schools. I'd suggest checking out their website for Johnston County Public Schools, as I don't have first hand knowledge.

As for the commute...my husband's office is there. We are in North Raleigh near Creedmoor road. It takes him less than 30 min. in the am to get to work. He leaves about 7:30. He is going against the traffic. Same in the evening...he comes home at 6 or 6:30.

He tried going the new 540, took about 7 minutes less but was further.

Hope this helps, Vicki

Hi,

We recently moved from Johnston County and enjoyed living in Clayton. You should check out the postings on Clayton in the North Carolina forum. The thread probably belongs in Raleigh metro, but it is part of NC. Some good information in there!
