Organizations to Donate to (Durham: mattresses, appliances, house)

We have some furniture and misc items that we would like to donate. Recommendations of local charities that would come by the house to pick these items ups and put them to good use?

try calling some churches or listing on craigslist

NC Children's Promise has picked up stuff from us (Durham). They send postcards periodically to say when they are going to be in our neighborhood. I leave stuff by our garage and they pick it up. I believe they actually sell the items and then use all the money for UNC Children's Hospital. Google them for more info.

Simply provide your name, address, phone number, a list of the items you have for donation, and a preferred pick-up date. We will respond within 48 hours to confirm.
