I am getting married in May of 2009. I have already booked the reception venue in Garner. I am desperately looking for a place to have the wedding outdoors. I have literally checked all the gardens/historic houses in downtown raleigh. I am looking for a place anywhere around garner (apex,cary,knightdale,clayton..etc) where I can have an outdoor wedding.
Please let me know if you know of a place. NO churches please.

Have you checked out Lake Benson? I haven't been all over the park, but you could probably get some pretty shots by the lake. I think they may have a gazebo too.

You may want to check out North Carolina Bed and Breakfast :: Fuquay Varina or some other B&B's in the area. Good Luck! Wedding planning is hard work.

Default Wedding Help

My friend just got married, and they saved alot of money by getting the food catered, and by hiring wait staff/bartenders. The staff that was hired as servers/bartenders were very friendly. I believe the name of the company was hostess helpers

Hi! Just a few suggestions...you may have already checked these, but here goes: I was married in 2007 at the JC Raulston Arboretum in Raleigh (JC Raulston Arboretum - Home Page). I know you can rent out a few locations in there if you have a larger party, but ours was a small "quickie" wedding, just the witnesses and minister, so we just scouted for nice photogenic spots beforehand, and then walked in and did it one day. We also checked ahead of time to make sure they were ok with it and they said as long as we didn't mind other people possibly being around they didn't mind. Another place we looked into was the Rose Garden (Special Events in the Rose Garden | Raleigh Little Theatre). It was a bit costly for our needs though. But we have actually witnessed a few weddings there and it is beautiful. And last, I used to have lunch a lot at Lake Crabtree, and always thought it would be a great place for an outdoor natural wedding (WakeGOV.com - Lake Crabtree Park). Which makes me wonder if other parks in the area might be worth considering...possibly there is one nearby to your reception location. Good luck and congratulations! Our wedding was everything we wished for and I hope yours is too

Default Thanks

Thanks for all the help and suggestions. I will check into them all. Thanks and keep them coming. By the way do the State Parks allow you to go in and just set up for a wedding?
