If you guys hear anything about a Basketball league opening up let me know. I've been here a year & still haven't found out where people play ball around here.
There are several leagues in Raleigh including the Chavis league. Here you'll find former collegiate players and some NBAers along side weekend warriors like myself, all I have to say is good luck
You may be able to find some leagues at the parks like Laurel Hills and Bond...
I have had good luck finding teams on Craigslist under the activities section. Depending on what you are looking for, you should check out WAKA, the local adult Kickball league. It isn't really about the game, but is more of a social setting with some athletics involved. Also, if you can afford the pricey membership, the Cary Lifetime Gym has a lot of basketball games, both pickup and league.
I just stumbled across this league: OFFICIAL SITE OF THE TRIANGLE BASKETBALL ASSOCIATION™ (TBA) (http://www.trianglebball.com/main/main.htm - broken link)
Sounds pretty cool, but unsure if they take individual players... most of us don't have a full squad to sign up with (including me).
Does anyone know if there is such thing as a soccer league that would meet primarily on the weekends? My bf played soccer in high school but doesn't now since he works out of town most of the time. He's here most weekends and on ocassion during the week but usually gets off work late and has a physical job so would most likely be too tired during the week anyways.
You can also check these guys out : CATS - Capital Area Team Sports mainly softball and flag football right now (each twice a year) but they are expanding into other things.
