Are there any places in Raleigh that serve brunch on Saturdays? I'd prefer to find a place downtown around Glenwood or even Moore Square but any suggestions are welcome!!

Thanks!

Poole's Downtown Diner (426 S McDowell St) serves an excellent brunch on Saturdays from 10:30-3. Ashley Christensen, owner and head chef, has been featured in Bon Appetit magazine. We love some brunch at Poole's! Don't be fooled by the "diner" moniker, the food is not your typical diner fare but rather a more sophisticated rendering of some comfort food type dishes (think shrimp and grits, lamb hash, etc.).

Is it super busy at 10:30a and can it accommodate up to 10 of us?

10 would be a lot for Poole's Diner. But call and see if you can get a reservation.

It usually doesn't start getting super busy until 11-11:30 I would say (unless there is an early event going on downtown). We usually get there between 10:30-11 when we go, and only once has it seemed super busy (mainly because there was one larger group).

I have seen larger groups in there. They actually do have a double horseshoe diner counter that could easily accommodate up to 10 people, but I think they would probably have enough tables as well. I don't know if they take reservations for larger parties, but you could probably call and ask: Poole's Downtown Diner · 919.832.4477.

Everything is prepared fresh and they use a lot of local ingredients. It is relatively casual - you will see people who rode their bicycles or walked there, as well as folks who are dressed nice.
