Which one should we go for?
1) I can check public school rating but there is no rating on net for magnet schools. Yes surely I will visit couple of best schools from Public school list and couple of Magnet school that i guess might be good one ( Hunter,Fuller elementry in Wake county)
Where should we buy house?
1) I am assuming we can send our kid to certain school based on our street address. It seems impossible to find an address that will get my kid to best elementary, middle and high school. Selling my house after every 5 years doesn’t seem like a good idea to me.
We are visiting NC next weekend. I am wondering how to make good use of my visit.
Thanks

Ah...the Magnet schools in Wake County are included on all the major rating sites. I also don't think there are 62 of them. I think there around 36 or so.
Last year the Magnet Schools of America Association did name Combs Elementary as the top overall magnet school last year in the nation, Ligon Middle was named top secondary (middle and high) school and Farmington Woods Elementary was named top elementary schools in the nation. Almost all other magnets were given high marks as welll
Also...well...there are just more then just 'one' good school in the district.
You don't need to move to get into the 'one' good school at that grade level....chances are....especially if you are committed to education and your child has been raised with this, you are going to be at a great school that will serve your children well. Our district is well balanced.
I know that if you are coming from a Northern state this is hard to really 'get'...I know I didn't get it at first either....but Wake County just isn't run much like school districts up north.
