Tornadoes can happen any time of the year, especially in the temperate seasons. This outbreak was actually associated with the remnants of Paloma. Tropical remnants are probably the main contributor to NC tornadoes.

Thanks for all that info! Earthquakes I can handle since I have vast experience with that living through 3 major ones, and dozens of small ones! The NOAA radio of course will be a must, plus maybe I need to build a shelter like what Dorothy had but didn't use?? Hee hee.
