Not to take the emphasis off this place, but another great place for local art and craft stuff is Knockabout in City Market downtown. She has great things, my kids love the stuffed animals she makes...very creative and different. No one will have one just like theirs! http://knockabout.net/peculiar-pets/
As a handcrafter, I really appreciate hearing about places like this. It really burns my biscuits to hear store owners say, "Sorry, we don't buy locally." I think they're missing out on stocking some really cool stuff!
I'll have to check out When Pigz Fly and Va's suggestions soon!
There is also a neat place near New Light Road and Durham Hwy. I just can't remember the name of it.
