Based on what a fellow homeowner sent me, they either have to push the plan through to city council for a direct vote, or withdraw their application which means they cant re-submit for 12 months.

What I do not know is if they can revise their plan and bring it again to the planning commission, addressing concerns in the process.

I have to say I really hope something gets worked out, even if it means scaling back. I would love to have a Harris Teeter so close...right now I go to Leesville.

I agree with the second half of your statement.

It was kind of comical last night as two of the people speaking on behalf of the applicant were saying "I live in the area, and I am fully in favor of this!" - they live in Grove Park. They have no reason NOT to be in favor of the biggest, baddest development there. If they put the Lowes in Grove Park, I would love the idea too!

Bull City Rising has an excellent post on his site detailing some of the happenings from the meeting:

Coming from Ravenstone, I'm hoping something better than our Food Lion moves into the area...

Bump

My husband and I both came down with terrible colds and couldn't attend. Curious if anything changed in the plans from the first to the second meeting?

Thanks!

I didn't go, but I was told that it was just more of the same - the developer intends to present the plan to the city council for approval in March with no changes from the current plan. Not really sure what the point of the meeting would have been, then, but whatever!
