The best cider by far, is the apple cider at aldi's. $2.99 a gallon. You have to get it early in the day, because they usually sell out. Our local orchard sells their cider for around $10 a gallon, and Aldi's cider is way better.
Usually filled with preservatives. I would rather get fresh cider.
I personally prefer hard cider. If it's not fermented, it's just apple juice.
Naturally occurring yeasts in cider can cause fermentation. There a big difference between cider and juice. Most due to how it's processed.
