Can anyone suggest subdivisions to consider for a commute that will be convenient for one spouse in downtown raleigh and the other in rtp area. Would like to stay under $350K. Not stuck on new developments, wouldn't mind older home if the right property.
what about stonehenge, or brookhaven (there may be a couple of houses in your range there). It seems like the area in and around glenwood, millbrook might work well, depending on where in rtp you are going. That area is really nice, brookhaven is one of my favorite neighborhoods!
My wife works near Capital and the Beltline. Up until October, I worked in RTP. We chose the Swift Creek area, which is south of Raleigh, Southeast of Cary, and Southwest of Garner.
Walnut Ridge in Cary? It's 1-2 stoplights to HWY-1 and I-40. Takes me 15 minutes in the early morning to get to work (RTP), and we're ~7 miles away from the downtown Raleigh exit on I-40 and ~8 miles to the Six Forks exit on HWY-1. Perfect for us, but it may depend on where in RTP and where downtown for you. In your price range.
i second the glenwood avenue- brookhaven area, also there are some S/D up creedmoor that would suit as well! quick access to 70 to RTP and quick access to glenwood-beltline to get downtown

Agreed on Walnut Ridge. And there is a wealth of other options in Cary and Raleigh.
Also, several subdivisions in N Cary and NE Cary, off Harrison Avenue or Chapel Hill Road.
Northwoods, Silvercreek or other Silverton neighborhoods, maybe Weston Pointe, Medfield Estates, Braeloch Carriage Woods, Trinity Woods, Buckhurst.
In NW and W Raleigh, might find something in Meredith Woods, Oak Park, Laurel Hills, Umstead Ridge.
Bridgeton Park, but it might press your price point.
I like Brookhaven, too, as Leigh noted.
Again, a wealth of good alternatives from which to choose.
All depending on what is on the market at a given time, of course.
I agree with everyone else here. Those are all neighborhoods that are pretty convenient to both areas!
