2901 Capital to be exact.Would like to know if I stayed there, would it be considered the heart of wake forest? Is this a good area?Coming out from AZ to look at some houses and not knowing if I'd be staying in a nasty hotel.thanx
I think you mean 2910 Capital Blvd? This one is just north of the I-440 beltline, very convenient to everything in Raleigh/Wake County. The town of Wake Forest is probably 20 minutes north on Capital/US-1 from there, and it's a straight shot.
I can't give a personal recommendation for or against the quality of the hotel, but the location is pretty central. Depending what parts of the area you're focusing on, the "most" central area tends to be around the Crabtree Valley Mall, near the intersection of Glenwood Ave./hwy 70 and the beltline (I-440). It's only a few exits down on the beltline from Capital Blvd.
This location is not in Wake Forest, it's in Raleigh. It is not "quality" at all, it's the kind of hotel that people frequent to party, do drugs and take prostitutes on the weekends. I'd steer clear of most of the motels/hotels on Capital blvd. The location is good but being on that corridor also brings a lot of undesirable activity with it. There are much better hotels to stay in although you might not care if you are just looking for something cheap while you're in town looking at real estate.
I have had clients who are looking in wake forest stay both at the hampton inn, which is next to Briggs restaurant which has great breakfast and lunch. Then there is the sleep inn, which is also nice, and has an indoor pool. The indoor pool was a big hit with people who were traveling with kids and needed time to blow off steam between looking at homes. Both are easy to get to, close to many things, etc.
If you are going to look in wake forest, I would think either of these would be an option.
I've stayed at the Hampton Inn in Wake Forest while house hunting. It was very nice. Briggs restaurant is right across the parking lot - and is wonderful. We still go to Briggs from time to time!
It's a nice area, and very convenient to everything. It would be my choice.
If you need anymore a guy got stabbed saturday night at 2900 Capital Blvd (right next door, Tiffany Auto Sales)... Not a pretty sight.... The Quality Inn is also a blood gang member hangout as are a lot of the cheaper motels/hotels on the weekends...
Real reviews from people who actually stayed there. Plus, you can look at the top ten places to stay, within your budget. I swear, this hotel has saved me on my trip to Paris. I *almost* stayed at a roach motel, not knowing. *shudders*
I use this site anytime I need a hotel or just a vacation recommendation.
Good luck!
