Hello, my husband and I (well mostly me) are wanting to relocate to ANYWHERE other than where we are right now. We currently live in Kansas City, MO and I hate it. It's boring, drab, dead end and the murder rate is through the roof. By September 2008, we had 101 murders in Kansas City alone, and that's not counting the other larger cities close by.

After hmmming and haaaing about some areas that we like, we would love more info on Cary, NC and some subdivisions. We tossed around suburbs of Dallas, Tx, suburbs of Charlotte, NC and now Cary. Can anyone tell me which ones are nice and ones to avoid? We would like a house about 2000 sq ft or so and $250k or less if that helps.

I am a nurse so I can most definately find a job in the triangle. Now my hubby is going to Culinary school and I am sure there are restaurants there. So jobs aren't the issue. We just want a nice town, with plenty of amentities and good schools. We don't have kids now, but we plan on them. Thanks for the help!

You should look at Parkway subdivisions, Silverton subdivisions, Oxxford Hunt subdivisions.
These are PUD's with several subdivisions by various tract builders. You will find about 35 subdivisions divided among those three.

Consider Park Villagem although the 2000SF may be tough.

You also may find something in the "Heart of Cary," where older homes sit on wooded 1/4 to 1/2 acre lots.
You might consider Irongate, Coronado Village, Greenwood Forest, Northwoods

Carriage Woods may have something.

Here is a bit of trivia that I posted on this forum about a year ago. We moved here from the Dallas burbs about 3 years ago:

Based on Citi-Data's website (as of 2002), there were 281 full-service restaurants in Raleigh, employing 6667 employees. With a population of 306,944 residents distributed over 114.6 square miles, that comes to 0.9 restaurants per 1000 people, or 2.5 restaurants per square mile.

My wife and I used to live in Carrollton TX, which borders Addison TX. Addison (as of 2002) had 71 full service restaurants, a population of 14,117, and covered 4.43 square miles. That works out to 5 restaurants per 1000 people, or 16 restaurants per square mile.

My point being that we need more restaurants here
