I contacted the people who designed the huge flying ring structure in Venice, CA and it apparently costs around $30,000 to build...think any park in Cary/Raleigh would do this?
haha, I considered building in my backyard...until I saw the price tag.
Cary's skate park (Sk8 Cary) can't be any less dangerous...that being said, it is gated and requires money to play. Paying money to swing on rings seems less cool.
Oh well, still would be fun. Adults need to play too.
Signs that say at your own risk mean nothing legally. Even if you sign a waiver, you can still sue and win. The joys of being in a sue happy society. Makes it difficult to have fun!
The skate park has a fee that is probably to help pay for the $$$ insurance. Better than the tax payers getting stuck with the entire bill especially since not many 45 year olds typically are skateboarding crazy.
I hope you are in really good shape and really strong, because thats definitely tough to do. I was out in LA last Spring and we were at this beach or at one like it(Santa Monica I believe). I tried just swinging on one ring and felt like my arm was going to pulled out of its socket. I give those people props for being able to do that. Its tough!
If you build it, the freaks will come. See: Venice Beach.
count me in as a freak!
One of the best upper body workouts is to use rings - I use these: Elite Rings - you can hang them almost anywhere and they definitely work. CrossFit uses them as well.
Wow, apart from how unsafe that must be, it looks awesome! Wonder what the 0-60 is?
