Been shopping around for my father's home insurance. They are currently with Nationwide who is ripping them off, charging them almost double what some of the quotes I am receiving. I've tried Farm Bureau, Kemper, Liberty Mutual.
Any other recommendations ?

Have you tried any of the larger insurers like Allstate?

If he has a car, check with whichever company he's using for car insurance. I get a discount for having both my home and cars with State Farm. If it's Nationwide, you may want to shop his car insurance as well (since you said they are very expensive)!

I would definitely recommend Farm Bureau. It's member owned and they are there for you. It's just like SECU.

If you have access to USAA they are good, we pay $308/yr on a $175k house.

We just switched to Amica and are paying half of what we were paying with Liberty Mutual for the same coverage.

Years ago I had Farm Bureau but found State Farm to be much cheaper and have better service. Coincidentally my husband had FB before we were married and wasn't too thrilled with them either. Of course things may have changed over time, but we've been happy with SF.
