Help! I went out to Clayton overy my vacation and saw that it was little to far out for me. Any other suggestions in the county? I am looking for places close to shopping!

In what county? Johnston or Wake? We just purchased a place in Clayton that is right behind a grocery store (and shopping center), down the street from another grocery store (and shopping center), and 10mins from all the shopping you could need for your day to day life (target, walmart, restaurants, big box, etc.). I'm not sure how close we will be to a mall, but who cares, I hate malls! lol

What are your requirements? Have you looked at Wake Forest? It's really close to a lot of shopping centers.

Try Swift Creek - 27606 - the area bracketed by Lake Wheeler Rd, Ten Ten, and Holly Springs Rd. in Raleigh. Rural setting with large lots, close to shopping, 15 min to downtown Raleigh and NCSU, and great home value for the money.

How about Wake Forest or N. Raleigh? Are you looking for more country or suburbs? Price range?

In the country.... close to shopping.... how close is close? N Raleigh/ Wake Forest typically offers country wooded settings, plenty of wildlife, with access to malls and shopping within 10 min, fwiw.
