I am going to be getting married in November (Friday the 13th) at the Rialto in Raleigh.
Has anyone been to a wedding there? What was it like? Did they have the reception there also?
We can get a free location for the reception for the wedding but it will be in Garner and this would mean our guests finding a way to drive from Raleigh to Garner around 6 on a Friday.
Are there any other affordable reception locations around The Rialto?

Thanks

Getting married at the Rialto sounds cool.

How many guests do you expect at the reception? That should help narrow the choices down. Do you need it catered or are you only looking for a space?

Haven't been there in years but I remember going to the Rocky Horror picture show there on a date and the theater was kinda nasty, there were a few people getting jiggy with it if you know what I mean.. Not somewhere I would want to get married at.

We will have about 80 people, over half of them will probably be children.

Very cool!!!!
Its not that far of a drive from Glenwood Ave to Garner - you just take McDowell and head South!!!

(Do you need a DJ?)

Longview Center in downtown (near Moore Square) can handle receptions.

The cost is going to be MUCH different for those two venues.

That will be a great unique wedding -how exciting! I think Bloomsbury Bistro handles private parties, not sure how big it is though or cost (meaning to go). Or, maybe one of the churches in the area would rent out space. There's Our Saviour's Lutheran to the right and Hayes Barton Baptist to the left within walking distance. Just some ideas. Congratulations!
