I just got back from the North Raleigh Farmer's Market at Falls River where I got a pint of awesome strawberries from Page Farms (100 acre family farm out by Brier Creek). I am looking forward to their sweet corn harvest later this summer! Support our local farmers!

Mmm, strawberries. Wonderful from the farmers market, but even better if you pick them yourself, early in the day. There are so many pick your own farms around here, it's easy to find one.

My husband picked 15 lbs of strawberries a couple of weeks ago, for a total cost of $19. We ate our fill of them, and I made freezer jam with the rest. (So easy to do, and takes very little time.) He's going back for more in the next few days.

We bought lots of strawberries at the Raleigh Farmer's Market on Sunday! Delicious....we've had strawberry shortcake, strawberries on cereal, strawberries plain etc. Quite a healthy snack - if we'd just forget the pound cake and whipped cream!

I have been seeing signs around Brier Creek and Highway 70 for pick your own strawberries, must be that place. We plan to head out that way one day very soon and pick our own.

There is nothing like NC strawberry season (well Silver Queen corn season perhaps)! Another trip to the berry farm is in order today in fact, yippee!
