Does anybody know anything about the neighborhood and elementary school for The Battery at High House in Cary, NC? Any feedback on Briarcliff Elementary for a 2nd and 5th grader? How is the "Y" for an afterschool program besides affordable? Mother and good potential neighbors looking for advice...thanks!

The Battery was built by KB Homes, and completed as they were getting running with Twin Lakes.
Homes on slab foundations, with big square footage for the dollar.
Walking trail around the pond.
Raleigh and North Carolina State University are a 20 minute commute. The Research Triangle Park, "RTP," is about the same. Both commutes can vary during heavy drive-time traffic.
The neighborhood was developed in 2004 by KB Homes. Sixty-five pleasant modern transitional homes comprise The Battery at High House, with home sizes ranging from 2200 to 3900 square feet.
Typical amenities include open family rooms, 3 to 5 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, separate formal areas, many windows to light the home, .11 to .23 acre lots, 2 car garages, dual-zone HVAC with natural gas heat, standing-seam metal porch roofs, low-maintenance brick and vinyl exteriors, and a suburban cul-de-sac street development.

Also within walking distance are choices of shopping centers, Fred G. Bond Park, and miles of greenways.

The Battery at High House has a Homeowners Association. HOA dues are approximately $525 annually, and are used for maintenance of common areas.

We used to live across the street and it is a great location. It used to be assigned to Weatherstone but as you said it is now assigned to Briarcliff (I believe to the disappointment of the Battery homeowners). I have no specific experience w/ Briarcliff, but it is a school in central Cary w/ a much higher percentage of Free & Reduced lunch students and lower test scores than schools in West Cary. Last year Briarcliff was a Title I school (meaning it had to offer transfers because of falling short of No Child Left Behind Requirements).
