Not sure the Tea Parties aren't marginalizing themselves these days by being so abundant. With the continuous protests the conservative movement is turning into to liberal movement of the 80's. All that protesting did was keep a Republican in the White House for 12 years. I'm disappointed to see the conservative movement hijacking the grass roots movements for their own self-serving interests. I attended the Tax Day Tea Party in Raleigh and was discouraged to see the sales and recruiting wing of the Republican machine there. Taxes shouldn't be a one party issue, and until it's wrestled back from the conservative pirates, the left, and more importantly a large percentage of the independents, will continue to reject the call to action.

Just my $.02

Well I'm not sure which Tax Day Tea Party that BranFlakes attended (there were 2) but at the one I attended I was overall impressed by how little partisan rhetoric I heard. Perhaps the other one had a more partisan twang to it. At the one I attended one speaker made a couple partisan remarks but they weren't particularly well-received. The strongest responses were driven by non-partisan comments. Yes, the Republicans did have a table but so did a bunch of other groups including Fair Tax, Libertarians and a term limits amendment table. I'm sure "Democrats for Limited Government Spending" would have been welcome.

As far as the rally the OP asked about -- I've heard about it but don't know too much about it.
