We went to see Cabaret last night at the Raleigh Little Theater....what a great little theater! The show was very good - wonderfully talented local cast, easy parking, comfortable seating and a lovely rose garden to see beforehand! We're still discovering so many great new places.
My wife and I are friends with the daughter of the Youth Theater Director, so we have been to the Raleigh Little Theater several times. I think its a great place to take your kids for the Youth programs. We saw James and the Giant Peach there and Peter Pan. We have also seen adult shows including A Raisin in the Sun. I highly recommend checking out a show there.
The Raleigh Little Theater and Rose Garden were the site of the NC State Fairgrounds before they moved further out Hillsborough Steet. Just a little old Raleigh FYI. Ira David Wood has been the director since 1972. You might recognize his daughter Evan Rachel Wood from Hollywood fame.
Wasn't it also the home of a professor and the rose garden began due to him?
Was just reading something about this a week or so ago...I'll update if I can find the link.

I didn't know this! Thanks for the info.
And Daveraleigh - beautiful area!!
We saw Lend Me a Tenor there in April. It's a great little theatre (which is how they spell it), and you can't beat the price. An even better deal is to go on the first Sunday of a production, when the tickets are only $10.

Ira David Wood is the director of Theater in the Park, not the Raleigh Little Theater.

You're absolutely right, J Lurk. Two totally separate theatre companies, although they're both important assets to the community.
