We are looking for a neighborhood in the Wake County School System for our school aged children. I noticed that there are many addresses in the Wake Forest area, but they are not Wake Schools. We are looking for at least a 1/2 acre of property, preferably with some tree's for privacy. We would prefer new construction or a max of under 5 years. Any suggestions?

Pad3 I like using the Coldwell Banker-HPW site for real estate searches. You can search by school district in this instance. Select the high school option and then select all the high schools in Wake County by holding down the ctrl key while you select them. Then select lots size of at least 1/2 acre, with a maximum age of 5 years, and a maximum price of $375k. My search returned more than 200 listings meeting that criteria. The wooded lots my be more of a challenge since you're looking for new construction, but they are out ther.

My suggestions for new construction, with that acreage:

forrest ridge
crescent ridge
strathaven

for resales, whew, there are a lot! I have been looking at many homes with that price point but they could be older homes (older than 5 years, maybe closer to 8 to 10 years). For the newer homes, the only place I can think of is twin creeks at olde mill stream. That neighborhood is in a great location, but some of the lots have huge slopes (which does allow for basements) and they have powerlines running through some of the neighborhood.

PM me if you have more questions, and I would be happy to tell you about the "older" homes I have seen recently..

Leigh

Default Wake Forest Homes

Hi Pad3,

My husband and I are also looking for a home in Wake Forest, within Wake County, with a large yard.

Did you ever end up finding what you were looking for?

Yes, the schools in Wake Forest are part of Wake county....but there are some areas to the north of town that have a Wake Forest mailing address, but are in Granville or even Franklin county.

Just another reason why zip codes are not very helpful down here.
