Not trying to be snarky , but wouldn't it be easier to you figure out as a dentist how to do that than the general public? I have a medical license in NC and if I were moving to a new state, I'd contact that state's licensing body.

Gotta agree with you on this one...

Default I was checking for a friend,

There is no need for snarkiness. These message boards are to be informative. I am inquiring for a friend of mine whose husband is a dentist. We are just having a good conversation about the kindness of people in the south and she just wanted some information before she approached her husband.

I was checking for a friend of mine and told her how helpful the message boards were...until we saw your post. I am a nurse and know the process for obtaining my nursing license in North Carolina, but I did not know the process for dentists. We are having a girls night looking for information on the boards and we thought it might be helpful to post...I guess not.

Now now, lets all get along.

You did say you were interested in how to "transfer MY license".

It just seemed strange to be asking if you were a dentist.

Vicki

That would be great. As I said, we are having a girls night and my fingers got away. My friend wants to find out some information before she approaches her husband and I can't imagine that he is the only dentist that may be relocating.

Actually, North Carolina is the BEST place to be for a dentist. There's a dentist shortage here. There's only one dental school in the state (at UNC-Chapel Hill) and dentists can be hard to come by. Dentists can pretty much name their own prices.

Everyone here is very nice.

Brightmidnight,

Thank you for your kind and encouraging words. I will pass this along to my friend. There are many of us who are considering relocating and these message boards are a great way to gather information and make an educated decision about pursuing our options. Thanks again.
