Heard the other day that Falls Lake, a major water supply, is starting to show signs of pollution. Does anyone know how serious it is, and what is being done about it?

The report said that it's a result of poor planning with respect to development in the area, so I'm wondering who is in charge of planning?
Is it a state responsibility, or the individual municipalities?

Planning responsibilities lie with the individual municipalities. In this case that would be the counties that surround Falls Lake.

Very sad, but I guess rampant and almost uncontrolled development is starting to take its toll.

I live near Falls lake and love that place.....guess it was only a matter of time with all the hoopla of development going on, and the huge influx of transients all at once it was just a spark ready to ignite I guess. So sad.
