I like the Bagels there, they are very good. I don't understand the attitude. I've eaten my fair share of bagels from places in NJ, NY and out on Long Island and the people behind the counter at those places were always very friendly.
NY Bagel II in Cary is really good and they've never had any attitude that I've seen. They've been the best, most authentic bagels that I've had here
You are so correct! I just wish they were closer. We buy a dozen every so often and I freeze them, and bake them in a toaster oven on low temp. It's almost as good as if I just got them. I was glad to see the reference to the bad service was in N. Raleigh area because I could almost not believe my eyes.
Just wish they had a bigger eat in area and some nice tables outside. Just pull them back in at closing. Probably is an ordinance with the shopping center. Too bad.
I agree with this 100%. They're so POed to be working there, you feel like you're at the post office or the DMV while you're in line. It's almost comical- like Dick's Last Resort (where the draw is that they're paid to be rude to you).
One lady YELLED at my friend after she ordered a toasted bagel and was handed a cold bagel. My friend said, "Oh, I'm sorry- I thought I asked for it to be toasted" (She definitely did ask, and clearly), and the lady was openly snide and rude to her. When my friend said something about that being inappropriate, the lady went off.
That place is right on my way to work and I probably have gone back only twice or so in the year since that's happened. If they were even a tiny bit polite, I'd be by once a week. Now I just go to the Planet Smoothie in Sutton Square. The peach strawberry thing... beats a bagel any day (well, almost any day, but I refuse to pay for openly rude service).
