Does anyone know of a place to put our 28 ft. boat in the water? Are there any marinas in the Wake Forest/North Raleigh area? Roe

Falls Lake is probably the best bet. We put our boat in at shandling beach area or there is also a place off of six forks (close to 98).

You can buy a season pass for 40 bucks (instead of paying 5 each time you put the boat in the water) the pass is from memorial day to labor day.

Falls Lake is the closest...there is Kerr Lake up by the VA line as well. Keep in mind that Falls Lake has no docking or really an actual marina. It's very much a 'day lake'.

I was under the impression that no motorboats were allowed in Falls Lake, due to it being a drinking water source. Is this correct?

It depend what side of Beaver Dam you are on. Part of does allow motor boats....other just personally powered watercraft (canoes, kayaks, that sort of thing).
