When does it begin there?
We would love to come visit/job interview/house hunt in the next couple of months.
Our kids have never seen fall foliage in person.

November (mid) - about a month later than we were used to in RI. It's really pretty here in the Fall and the weather is just awesome!

It depends a lot on the weather in the early fall, but it usually starts around the end of October-mid November.

Agreed that most years we have color by Halloween and that it lasts through mid November or so.

As others said, it can vary. However, my best friend came to visit a couple of years ago on her birthday, and the colors were at their peak. Her birthday is October 29. The colors had started a week or two before then.

The Blue Ridge and Great Smokey Mountains are the best areas to view fall color. As someone said above, mid-October is peak color there. A great way to experience it is to take a drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway.

AJ...if you REALLY want to experience fall foliage, you should take the time and head to a place like Asheville or drive the Blue Ridge Parkway when the colors are peak. Awesome!
