I searched but didn't see anything relevant. I wanted to know if anyone had filed their own quitclaim deed without using an attorney. I see forms out on the internet that I can order, but don't know if the court/deeds office would actually accept them. If you have done it yourself using your own form or an online form, I'd appreciate hearing from you. I need to quit my claim on the house to my husband.

Yes I did it on my own but it was many years ago.
I can't remember where the form came from but
the Wake County Clerk of Court is the one that
can help you navigate the process.

If you are on the mortgage you need to find out what they require.

I had my real estate attorney draw one up for a client of mine. I think the attorney's fee was only about $50. You may want to call and ask. Seems to be rather inexpensive to have the attorney do it and know it was done correctly.
