Hi~
I am looking to move to N.C. I am a 24 year old nurse from Maryland and have heard of the beauty of Raleigh and the cool people. I am looking for job as a psychiatric nurse practitioner. :-) My questions are:
1) what is raleigh like for young adults, socializing wise
2) is there a job market for psych. NP's
3) any other cities in NC you would suggest.
1)I'm 24, recently moved here, and LOVING it so far! I've joined a church and various meet up groups which have helped me socialize, as I'm sort of shy.
2) I just dealt with one the other day(I'm a social worker) at Wake Co.Human Mental Health. Check out indeed.com, craigslist under the medical/health care sections, and maybe typical ones like career builder. We have Central Regional Hospital- Raleigh campus which they claim they'll be closing soon, but I just had someone admitted there so who knows... they may be hiring. Central Regional Campus- Butner may also be hiring, but I think that area is more rural (don't know for sure as I've never been there). Also look online at Holly Hill Hospital.
3)Maybe Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill (I also dealt w/ a psych. np there if I'm remembering correctly), and Charlotte.
I'd start with finding the job. Consider Charlotte and Winston-Salem areas as well as the Triangle.
