I know the rezoning was passed by the city a few months ago, but I haven't heard or seen any activity about the future Whole Foods to be built at the intersection of Six Forks and Strickland in North Raleigh. My recent trip to the new Trader Joe's made me wonder where this other project is?Anybody know what the story is. Has the down economy put this project on hold?
Haven't heard a thing, but it is so needed in this area. It isn't like Wade Ave is that far away, but it gets annoying driving down there weekly - and parking is horrible. Let's hope they get moving soon.
Wasn't there an article in the paper, in the Sue Strock section? Too lazy to find it now, but I believe something had or was about to happen, and the project was still going forward.

Foodies in North Raleigh can rejoice today. Word comes that Whole Foods is coming to Northern Six Forks at its intersection with Strickland. While not definite the N&O says “Regency said it is in final negotiations with the grocer, and all indications point toward Whole Foods as the tenant.” If things go as planned the store should be open for 2010.
That would be so great for me in Creedmoor. The one in Durham is so claustrophobic I can hardly stand to be in there. I hope they make the isles wider in the new store.
