The majority of the couples I know around here met THROUGH people...friends and the like. THEN they go out together. I don't see a lot of singles going alone to bars and stuff to meet people, they seem to either be on a date or there to meet a specific person.

If I go to a lounge or club, it's with a buddy or two or three. Don't get me wrong, I'm not looking for my wife, but it's kinda of grating as a single dude to see all of these couples walking around here. I don't hate couples or anything like that, it's kind of cute in a wholesome kind of way, but this is such a departure from what I know.

Please don't go out and get a dog just because you think you might meet lots of singles that way. Get a dog because you really want a dog. They are a lot of work, a lot of expense, and require a lot of attention. They are sentient beings, not date bait!

I have three dogs myself, and while they have not gotten me any dates, I have met a lot of people and made quite a few friends through my dogs. I got the dogs because I wanted them. The new friends were just icing on the cake.

NRG & Grifter, you just gave me a biz idea! Rent a dog get a date! Simple enough I'll bring you one of my adorable pups to rent for a day. You take it to the dog park where you say you're just watching the dog for your cousin.

When I state "We", I usually mean it to stand for my daughter and I . I'm a single, divorced homeschool.

If/when I move to Raleigh I will be in the same situation. I hope to get involved in church though and some have singles groups which is a good way to meet people.
